✔️ Candidates must obtain an ENG1 Medical Fitness Certificate
✔️ Candidates must attend all 5 days to qualify for funding

Shetland's fishing association has demanded immediate action after a Norwegian trawler was able to land more than half of Shetland’s annual saithe quota in one trip.

The SFA is calling for urgent government action to curb the growing scale of Norwegian fishing activity in UK waters after a single Norwegian trawler landed more than half the islands’ entire annual North Sea saithe quota in one trip. UHI Shetland has welcomed the award of funding through the Scottish Government’s Marine Fund Scotland of £387,000 for a Hybrid Training Boat, and a further £73,827.97 towards the improvement of ling stock assessment.

Our Area Manager, Aubrey, always strives to be there for injured fishermen: arranging journeys home or assisting with transfer to his colleagues in the rest of the Fishermen's Mission if they are travelling for further care on the mainland.
