Dunadd headed east today to take on Aberdour in the National League. Both teams had excellent cup wins last weekend so it was sure to be a close affair.

Dunadd were first to draw blood, taking a 3 goal lead in the opening 15mins, with Rosie MacDonald starting sharp, striking two and Eilidh Cameron securing her first of the day.

However, after a goal keeping error, Aberdour managed to get one back (less said about that the better! 🤣🤦‍♀️)

After the water break, it was Aberdour who continued to press and had two excellent finishes to draw even.

Dunadd still had perhaps the majority of possession and territory and so when Cameron snatched a her well taken 2nd, it seemed right that the away team were 3-4 up at halftime.

Going downhill in the 2nd half, Dunadd took the game to Aberdour and quickly scored, Cameron again, making it 3-5.

Dunadd kept their foot on the gas and this time it was Kathryn Morley taking up a great position and scoring her first league goal for the club with a well placed finish.

Aberdour did not let their heads go down though, and continued to prove themselves deadly on the break, scoring two from distance, making it 5-5.

With nerves jangling, Dunadd did well to steady things and continue to press; the pressure paid off and they edged into a 5-6 lead with Cameron netting again.

Thankfully in the closing minutes, the prolific goalscorer went on to score two more goals, making it 5-8 FT. Surely a contender for top goal scorer of the season.

With quite a few players playing out of position, this was an excellent result for the squad. The Aberdour keeper pulled off a string of saves, keeping the scoreline tight and Anna Nicolson and Ailsa Crawford both had excellent games against the strong 'Dour forwards.

Many thanks to those who travelled through to support, referee Ryan Stewart, and the Aberdour team for piling on the pressure. Always a great high scoring game at Silversands.

No game next weekend as we'll all be celebrating the marriage of Tia and Ally!

Dunadd faced off against Glengarry in the first round of the Single Team Cup. The last time the sides met in the league it was a close game with Dunadd pulling away 5-1 winners.

However, this time around the home team had a point to prove. Having not played a single match since the opening game of the season, Dunadd could have been forgiven were they to come out with a slow start, but in fact it was the exact opposite; Eilidh Cameron netting three within the first 10 minutes!

Glengarry rallied and had some good chances of their own but Dunadd steadied the ship and went in 5-0 up at halftime, Cameron adding two more to her tally.

In the second half, Dunadd kept the pressure on and it was Cameron again who scored immediately from the TU.

Rosie MacDonald then got in on the act, scoring two more, before Cameron got her 7th of the game!

To finish off, Tia Nicholson got the 10th to make it a resounding 10-0 victory.

Special mention must got to Eilidh Cameron junior who hit the bar twice, and to Ellie Hetherington who had two seemingly unstoppable shots saved by the fine Glengarry goalie.

Iona McCulloch in centre mid also had a phenomenal game and was unlucky herself not to get on the scoresheet.

Great to score so many, but equally good to keep a clean sheet.

Many thanks to referee Neil Nicolson, the home support and to Glengarry who fought hard to the end.

Next week, Dunadd get back to league action in an away game vs Aberdour.
