A HUGE thank you to so many kind people of Lymington, Pennington and the surrounding villages who have dropped off toys and presents already. There's nearly a week (Saturday 13th) before the Elves collect from us so if you're out shopping please consider picking up an extra present for a child who wouldn't receive anything this Christmas. 💗 Thank You 💗

We’re OVER THE MOON to announce that Crystals Hardware shop in Lymington Town Centre are once again here for the community.

Starting TODAY, you can pop in anytime between 9am – 5pm, 6 days a week and leave your NEW, UNWRAPPED gifts.

They can then be sorted into age groups and genders so every child gets something perfect!

“JUST PLAIN SILLY” - NEW FIGURES REVEAL FOLLY OF PARKING METERS

I have just received the figures back from Hampshire County Council about the amount of tickets sold to park on Lymington High Street - and the income generated from the meters.

In the last financial year, 90,195 free 20-minute tickets were issued.

23,496 1-hour tickets were issued.

16,669 2-hour tickets were issued.

The total income for Hampshire County Council from parking meters in Lymington High Street was £64,502.

What these figures demonstrate is that:

1. The cliff-edge drop from purchases of the free 20 minute tickets to the 1-hour ticket is staggering and shows how many people are being put off longer stays because of the charges.

2. The fact that the meters are only generating £64,500 in income per financial year shows the policy is just plain silly. All that disruption to local businesses, making our town a less attractive place to come and shop, for less than £65k.

I’m hoping to attend the protest on Monday 6th October being organised by Gary Saunders from Crystals. It’s being held at 11am outside the old post office. Hope to see you there!
