🔥 How to Bleed a Radiator: 5 Simple Steps!

Is your radiator cold at the top but warm at the bottom? Or perhaps it's making strange gurgling noises?

These are common signs that trapped air could be preventing your radiator from heating properly.

The good news? Bleeding a radiator is a simple DIY job that could help your heating work more efficiently! 🏡

🔧 Step 1: Turn off your central heating and allow your radiators to cool completely.

🔧 Step 2: Grab a radiator bleed key and a towel to catch any drips.

🔧 Step 3: Locate the bleed valve, usually found at the top corner of your radiator.

🔧 Step 4: Slowly turn the key anticlockwise to release trapped air. You'll hear a hissing sound. Once water starts to trickle out, close the valve.

🔧 Step 5: Check your boiler pressure if you have a sealed heating system, topping it up according to the manufacturer's instructions if necessary.

💡 How often should you bleed your radiators?

There's no fixed schedule, but it's worth checking them before the colder months and whenever you notice cold spots at the top or gurgling noises.
