IMPORTANT NOTICE: PLEASE READ
Hello to all my lovely customers
As you are all aware I have had some time off in recent weeks, thank you all for your kind words and understanding. It has been greatly appreciated.
Tomorrow….Thursday 20th February, I will be opening the shop up ..the first time since early January.
It will be lovely to see everyone again and I look forward to returning. However, I’m afraid to say that this marks the end of an era.
AJ’s will be closing.
Yes.. it’s a huge shock and whilst I personally have pondered this decision for many months.. you, as customers..(more like friends.. ) have not had the time I have had to adjust to this news.
The reasons for closing are primarily down to numbers… every business owner in the country will be familiar with it; our high streets have changed, even with so many loyal customers I have had the luxury of supporting me, even then, once rent and all other bills & invoices are settled, the wage I have recently paid myself is pitiful given the time and effort put in.
So..with the realisation that I have almost 2 decades MORE to work..(!!) it is probably for the best that I seek out work that will consistently pay a fair wage.
I am very aware that AJ’s was more than a local shop, it supported a community and provided whatever was needed, this was not always goods, often just a chat helped the day run a little smoother….and this,remember ,was a two way thing.. I gained hugely from the friendships gained over the years..I can’t even begin to think of how much I will miss it.
But… I have not gone yet!!
As I said..I will be opening Thursday 20th February at 10 am then basically I will open as per normal until all goods are sold.
Please note ..EVERY SINGLE ITEM IN THE SHOP IS NOW HALF MARKED PRICE…
(Ideally I am trying to get the shop empty for practical reasons by the end of February)
I can’t stress enough how many bargains you have the opportunity to get… even just basics like washing up liquid/ bleach etc etc… THE FOIL!!! This sells at £8.95 normally and as you all know.. this quality and quantity would be double that in Lakeland but now you will get it at £4.50!!!
