In January 1989 Taylor Timber Products was founded by Ian Taylor, who has been supplying Scandinavian windows and doors in the Highlands for nearly 40 years. Based locally, Taylor Timber Products aims to provide a personalised 1-1 service including checking over drawings, windows schedules, site visits for delivery logistics and to meet our clients. Before setting up his own business, Ian worked f

or William Grays between 1983 and 86 and was one of first people in the Highlands to supply Scandinavian windows and doors, and from 86-89 out of Christie and Vesey, who were one of the first stockists of double-glazed Scandinavian windows. After forming TTP in 1989, he bought his own warehouse in Evanton and continued to supply quality hardwood and softwood windows from Northern Ireland and Swedish SP windows. In 2010 the business was moved to new premises in Inverness and has been operating from there ever since. In more recent years he has built up connections with Danish timber window suppliers Vrogum-Svarre, Fakro roof windows, Nordan windows and doors and most recently a supplier of Aluminium clad windows and doors, Kastrup windows. In 2020 Ian’s son Robert has become more integrally involved and now helps with every aspect of the business from marketing, promoting the products on social media, sales and the distribution in the Highlands of Scotland.

This client got in touch a while ago about using windows we have in stock for a big renovation project on their house.

After a lot of discussions, we both agreed which windows would work best for them.

The client hired a lorry and drove up from Manchester to collect them and take them back with him.

We are looking forward to seeing this project finished.

Cannot believe it has been 2 years already since we moved out of Inverness. It has been a brilliant decision and we couldn't be happier in our new yard 🙌

A bit of tree work today at our yard. Unfortunately this massive Cyprus tree had some disease in it called butt rot.

Butt rot is a fungal disease that affects trees, primarily at the base of the trunk and in the roots. The fungus enters the tree through wounds or naturally grafted roots, causing decay in the inner wood, weakening the tree and making it susceptible to toppling. So we had to have it taken down.

We had Shilland Tree Services in again to safely take down the tree and process all the branches into woodchip.

Not very impressed this morning. Our letter/parcel box has been hit by a blue vehicle. With enough force to break the fence slats and buckle the whole box. No letter or note to say sorry either 😡 There will be quite a noticable mark on the vehicle as well.

If anyone has any information or would like to come forward it would be greatly appreciated 🤞

This month celebrates the 36th year that Taylor Timber Products has been trading in the Highlands of Scotland.

Back in 1989 when a very special person was born 🤣 My father Ian decided to start TTP.

Trading out of a warehouse in Evanton for the first 20 years. Then moved into Inverness for 14 and we now have an amazing yard on The Black Isle.

We are a small Father and Son business and I am personally honoured to be part of what my father has built.

Always providing the highest quality windows from the finest Scandinavian window suppliers out there.

We are looking forward to 2025 and the exciting new projects we can be part of.
