This ESP F-STD is a rarity that needed a bit of love to get back in order. We love Japanese guitars, and we seem to get lots of them in recently!

We reseated a few frets, levelled the board with some added fallaway, filled a few nut slots, did some soldering to fix a dodgy volume pot, gave it a good clean and set it up for good chugging.

We have our winner, Dan.

If you don’t know, Daniel is an incredibly talented Singer Songwriter from South Wales. And a member of the The Gallopers.

Commiserations to everyone else, but for anyone looking to get their hands on these pickups, they are still available on our website, we’ve extended the sale price of £150 for a set for the next week, ending on the 19th October.

A very unique and interesting Gibson from the mid 90’s that unfortunately had an awful lot of QC issues from the factory that had never been addressed.

This is a Gibson Blueshawk which were a very short lived 25.5” scale length semi hollow line of guitars.

This one had some weird gouges in the fretboard, parallel to the frets, overly bevelled fret ends, a non centred truss rod, a very badly cut nut and some really chipping and uneven finish.

We gave this one a fret dress, filled and recut the nut slots, and set it up. Plays as good as it should have come out of the factory.

I got my eye on you Gibson!

We’re back! And we’ve got a massive announcement.

Today, we are finally announcing our new venture ‘The Guitar Pickup Company’. We’ve been making custom pickups for years now, and we’ve finally decided to make it a little more official.

Not only that, but we have started with the release of our first standardised pickup set, our 63 Modern Strat pickups. Think of it as all of the good things of a vintage pickup with some more modern additions and choices thrown in.

As an introductory offer, single pickups will be £60 and a full set will be £180. These are handmade pickups so they will be made to order, and currently only available for collection until we get an idea of postage costs and how to pack these correctly.

So if you want to go check these out, head over to cjsguitars.com 🖤

See you all very soon!

Despite being really cool, and being associated with the Beatles, Epiphones Casino’s are known to have all sorts of weird ringing and bizarre issues that can be caused by a myriad of different things.

We pulled this one apart and tried a bunch of different things before we managed to get it playing cleanly. We nearly admitted defeat, but never satisfied with half a job!

Did you know that the pickups on these (which are called dog ears) are actually soldered onto the covers in a similar vain to covered humbuckers?

This Westone Thunder Bass is a great example of the, still very underrated, musical instruments produced in Japan.

This one had multiple frets reseated, a fret skim and Recrowned with added fallaway and a setup. We had to take out the nut in order to adjust the nut slots and polish it back up.

But honestly with flats on it, this thing has that classic P-Bass with flats sound, plus just a little bit more.
