🚂💥 Casting History – Literally! 💥🚂

Our foundry recently had the pleasure of casting parts for a 1908 Burrell Road Locomotive – and let’s just say, she’s a beauty. 💪🛠️

Here’s what we poured into this project:

🧱 2 x Way Shaft Brackets

🔩 Water Gauge Frame

🥊 2 x 11” Pistons

🧭 Steering Shaft Bracket

🛞 Brake Shaft Worm

...plus a few other vintage gems.

It’s not every day you get to help restore a piece of moving history. Big shoutout to the restoration crew for letting us be part of the ride. We love turning molten metal into memories. 😎🔥

Having our own in-house foundry means that stock and supply are never an issue. We do not import outlets from Asia or Europe, so if a customer wants 300 Outlets, they can be cast, machined and coated in approximately 10 - 12 working days. Not quite as quick as Mike Teavee taking them from a television screen, but pretty fast!

Testing and accreditation are changing the flood product market. Customers need to know that products work when they need them. Caro Group of Companies barriers were the product used to demonstrate the new PFR Innovation and Testing Lab at the University of Hull.

Created in conjunction with Flood Re and the Environment Agency, when it came to choosing which Flood products to use for the grand opening, the Caro Flood Defence Barrier was the natural choice.

The only Flood Defence Barrier currently accepted in the Environment Agency framework and the only barrier to be accredited to BS851188-1:2019+A1:2021.

We often post about the history of our Foundry. In St George’s Church, Beckenham, there’s a stunning stained glass window dedicated to Maybrey Reliance for the work we did during WWII. It captures the casting process and honours the men and women who kept production going when the country needed them most.

I bet not many other companies have a stained glass window dedicated to them!

Now part of the Caro Group of Companies, we are very proud of our companies heritage.

Caro Group of Companies on Salvage Hunters! 🔥

This Week, Maybrey Reliance, Part of the Caro Group of Companies were featured on Salvage Hunters: Georgian House Restoration! We had the privilege of castings a spindle for a stunning restoration project, showcasing our expertise in precision casting. (Quest, 10pm, Wednesday 12th Feb)

Bringing heritage pieces back to life is what we do best—combining traditional techniques with modern craftsmanship. A big thank you to the Salvage Hunters team for letting us be part of such a fantastic project!

We’ve also got a great photo of our Foundry Director, Andrew Hills, with Drew Pritchard and Rhys Brooks — proof that casting and restoration go hand in hand!
