A MESSAGE FROM JEWSON (COVID-19)
Dear customer,
COVID-19 Update – delivery service only until further notice
Following clarification from the Government who have confirmed that we are able to continue to operate our business within new guidelines, we will continue to keep our branches closed to customers but we will be running a delivery service to existing trade customers only from the 25th March.
Please don’t attempt to visit our branches as you won’t be allowed on the premises. You will be able to place orders through your local branch via phone or email. Your local branch contact details can be found here https://www.jewson.co.uk/branch-locator/. We will work with you to arrange a suitable time and date for your order to be delivered.
This decision allows us to ensure all colleagues work in line with social distancing measures as set out by the health service in order to protect their welfare. We have taken a number of measures to help prevent the spread of the virus, including:
Providing regular advice to colleagues on maintaining the highest hygiene standards
Increased hygiene measures in branch including regular cleaning of handles, doors, surfaces, till points and card machines
We’re no longer asking customers to physically sign for deliveries, instead our drivers will take a photo (unless advised not to) of the delivered items and sign on the customer’s behalf. If customer preferences are updated on our system an email to confirm the delivery has been made will be sent directly
This is not a decision that has been taken lightly especially as the safety of our colleagues, our number one priority, is at stake. It is also critical that we support our customers who provide essential maintenance of homes and public buildings, as well as helping our self-employed customers to stay in business, and the large number of colleagues we employ across our branches.
We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause and would like to thank you for your support and understanding through these difficult and uncertain times.
