Thank you for guiding us through the beautifully considered Contain the Rain Garden, sponsored by Flood Re.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Persian and Moroccan gardens, the design combines elegant planting with sculptural limestone and copper water features to show how rainwater can be captured, slowed and absorbed naturally into the landscape. Designed to manage rainfall sustainably, the garden demonstrates how slowing water flow can reduce surface run-off while supporting healthier soil, biodiversity and resilient planting.

A thoughtful and inspiring space that encourages creative approaches to water conservation through beautiful garden design.

We are proud to share that Rock Unique Ltd, now part of the McMonagle Stone Group, supplied the natural stone for John Howlett Studio’s Flood Re: Contain the Rain Garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which was awarded a Gold Medal.

Crafted from Crème Rimal limestone sourced in Portugal, the project features acid-etched and honed finishes, sealed at source for durability and performance. Rock Unique supplied the hexagonal planters, paving, trapezoidal bench, stone slips, and CNC-cut arches, every element precision-engineered from large stone blocks through to hand assembly.

Over the years, Rock Unique has been proud to supply stone for several award-winning Chelsea gardens, working alongside designers including Cleve West, Diarmuid Gavin, James Wong, and now John Howlett.

The show runs until Saturday. If you’re visiting Chelsea, make sure to see it. 🪨
