🐧 WORLD PENGUIN DAY 🐧

Celebrating Penguin Awareness Day 2024 is all about raising awareness about penguins, their environments, and their reducing numbers in the wild. This can be achieved in many different ways and the important part is getting the message out there that penguin populations are reducing.

World Penguin Day was started in 1972 when an explorer fell in love. Researcher Gerry Wallace was working at the McMurdo Station, an American research centre on Ross Island in the Antarctic, when a team discovered that Adélie penguins began their migration around this date every single year.

Whether you fancy a laugh, dabbing numbers, pulling a wax strip off someone or dancing the night away, there is always something for everyone.
We know you love a raffle and with so many prizes up for grabs, you got to attend the events for your chance of winning. 🎁

We have partnered up with The Attic Southampton with their Comedy Pre-Tour being hosted at The Elephant and Castle!

If comedy isn't your thing, and you love a game of Bingo, then don't miss out! Head to The Brass Monkey to enjoy the traditional bingo lingo and your chance to win some amazing prizes.

The Landlord and lady of The Elephant and Castle are also getting involved in a charity Wax and Shave fundraiser, so don't miss out on peeling a strip off the land lord or being the one to donate to those who are conquering the shave fear.

To finish off a fantastic month of fundraising, come along to the Cricketers Arms Woolston to dance the night away and enjoy some adult humour with their Charity Drag night.

❤ Heartbeat Cycle Sportive 2024 ❤
Date for your diary: Sunday 29th September 2024

Join Heartbeat at their Annual Cycle Sportive, choosing from 70 or 40 mile routes !! 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️

Now in its 8th year the Heartbeat Cycle Sportive event takes place in the beautiful Test Valley, commencing and finishing in the lovely grounds of Embley, Romsey.
The routes take the cyclists through Romsey over to Wi******er, Stockbridge and Broughton where the 70 and 40 mile routes split, the longer route travels over to Salisbury and the shorter 40 mile route travels back to Romsey via East Tytherley.

Registrations from 7.30am at Embley Park
70 mile route commences from 8.30
40 mile route commences from 9.00

The route will be arrowed, Marshalled and mechanical support provided. Refreshments will be available at Embley Park and Littleton.
