Across the country, clubs are now using their Sports-LITE portable floodlights for almost every evening training session.

With the weather still relatively mild and pitches in good condition, this is a great time of year to extend or maintain training session times, allowing as many age groups as possible to continue training on their home grounds throughout the autumn evenings.

Barrowby Football Club has been using Sports-LITE since February 2025, helping teams from U8s through to the adult teams make better use of their existing pitches and training space.

Why is beam control so important in sports lighting?

The darker evenings are starting to make a real difference to training schedule, and football clubs across the Northern Hemisphere are now putting their Sports-LITE kits to use, allowing them to train more players for longer across different training area.

One of the advantages of the Sports-LITE is that clubs don't need to decide months in advance exactly where they'll need lighting.

Lights can be positioned around the pitch or training area needed that evening, set up before the session starts and switched on as daylight fades. With up to 4 hours 20 minutes of runtime, there's plenty of light for multiple age groups to train throughout the evening.

From a small coaching area to a full-size pitch, the same Sports-LITE system can be configured around changing training requirements throughout the season. Lights can also be repositioned as needed, helping clubs rotate training areas, protect heavily used turf and reduce reliance on the match pitch during bad weather.

to our Sports-LITE installation at Oundle School

Schools and universities are once again coming to the time of year when daylight is fading earlier and it becomes harder to maximise facility use for late afternoon or evening sports trainings sessions on pitches, courts and other outside training areas.

This case study explains some of the reasons Oundle School invested in Ritelite Sports-LITE portable floodlights and how they have been able to use these lights to:

✔️ Extend training hours across the campus
✔️ Light all training surfaces –for rugby, tennis, netball, and football
✔️ Support both student sport programmes and community use
✔️ Achieve this without the need for permanent lighting or planning permission

It's great to see how flexible the Sports-LITE has been for Oundle School and many other education settings, helping them get more from their outdoor facilities all year round.

It’s a busy time in the Ritelite workshop as clubs and sports organisations are getting ready for the darker evenings ahead.

This line-up of Quad Pod K65 mobile lighting towers is almost ready to leave us, heading outside the UK to provide lighting for another sports facility this autumn.

With more Sports-LITE and Quad Pod K65 orders currently moving through production, testing and dispatch, our team is working hard to get everything ready and out to customers in time for when they need to start lighting up their evening training seasons.

Always good to see a line-up like this before products leave our workshop!
