Working close to a stone? Play it safe. 👀

Paul’s tip is to imagine each laser shot as a circle. The centre is the hottest point, while the edge is cooler.

By using the edge of the shot as you approach a stone or other delicate area, you can work more cautiously and reduce the risk of unwanted heat reaching it.

It’s a small adjustment in technique that can make a real difference when working around stones.

Blu Tack can be a surprisingly useful helper when you’re learning to laser weld. It stabilises small pieces so you can tack them together without having to hold everything in the air.

It’s particularly handy when you’re getting started, helping you position pieces accurately before moving on to the next stage of the repair.
