Please stay extra vigilant as there are lots of email scams doing the rounds at the moment.

Think twice about any unusual requests you wouldn't usually receive from your team or management. Especially requests to purchase items like gift cards, would your bosses really need you to do that?

If in doubt, stop and think.

ALWAYS double check with the person via other means of communication, to confirm the request is actually coming from them. Always ensure you get confirmation if banking details are actually being changed or not!

Pay attention to the wording and mannerisms and of course the sender address.

You wouldn't give money out to a stranger in person, so make sure you wouldn't give it out to a stranger over the internet too!

If you are using Outlook desktop app on your computer you may struggle see the historic emails taking up space in your inbox.

If you instead log onto
https://smpl.is/9o5td
and sign in with your credentials.

once logged in - you can then go to the settings cog up in the top right of the webpage (as seen in the image below)

Then if you head to the
General Settings -
Storage -
(also seen in the image below with the arrows!)

It will give you a brilliant breakdown of your biggest folders, and allows you the option to purge off the items over a certain time from the folders taking up the most space, should you wish to do so.

Staying on top of your mailbox size really helps outlook to perform smoothly and efficiently, and will keep you nice and organised.

We have taken delivery of some Yubico 2fa physical keys this week, and will be testing them out on our networks to see if they could become a useful tool to prevent phishing attacks and help to keep our clients safe online.

We are constantly testing new security technology and methods here at FBS and will be posting guides and reviews on our social media pages and on our website blog for you to check out.

There's still time to save your company phone number!

If you are using a phone number that is part of your BT internet package you may be at risk of losing it forever if you don't port it away in time for the BT PTSN switch off that was originally set to happen on December 2025.

You now may have until January 31, 2027, but please don't risk it and get your number ported as soon as possible. Losing your company phone number could have a substantial impact on your business.

If you get unexpected prompts, it could be a sign of a malicious attempt, upon accepting that attempt you could be letting a malicious person into your accounts. 🧑🏽‍💻

External drive backups are such a simple, cheap and effective way to ensure you don't lose data in case of a fire, hardware fault or worse, viruses!

For the small price of an external USB you can keep your data safe and ready to be quickly restored in case of an emergency.

If you don't have an external SSD to backup your files, here's your reminder to get one!
you can never have too many backups!!

- Please remember that if you are keeping sensitive data on your USB backup drives you should password encrypt them - the best built in windows software to achieve this is bitlocker.

If your files and data are important to you, then you should absolutely be keeping copies of them, hopefully you should never need these copies, but if you do, you'll be more than glad you had them backed up externally.

Microsoft say it may be affecting the entire Microsoft 365 suite which includes commonly used apps like excel, word, and outlook. It also appears to be affecting one drive(SharePoint) & teams.
