PRODUCT OF THE WEEK ⭐

This week’s featured product is ProJoint Rapid Flow jointing compound — a simple and effective way of filling joints between porcelain and natural stone paving.

So how does it work? 👇

The compound is brushed into the joints while the paving is wet. Once compacted into the gaps, it begins to cure and harden, creating a strong finished joint between the slabs.

Unlike traditional sand and cement pointing, it’s much quicker to apply, less messy, and helps reduce w**d growth and joint washout over time.

BIGGEST mistake people make with decorative stone ❌

One of the most common problems we see is decorative stone being laid too thin or without a proper membrane underneath.

This can lead to:
▪️ Weeds growing through
▪️ Stone sinking into the ground
▪️ Mud patches appearing
▪️ Uneven surfaces over time

For the best results:
✔️ Use a quality w**d membrane
✔️ Prepare the ground properly
✔️ Lay the stone at the correct depth
✔️ Choose the right size stone for the job

20mm stone is usually the best option for driveways and larger areas, while smaller sizes are better suited to paths and decorative borders.

What’s the difference between MOT Type 1 and Clean Stone? 🤔

This is one of the most common questions we get asked at Gravel Works, and choosing the right material can make a huge difference to your project.

🔹 MOT Type 1
MOT Type 1 is a crushed aggregate made up of dust and stone which compacts down tightly. It’s mainly used as a solid sub-base for:

▪️ Patios
▪️ Paths
▪️ Roads
▪️ Artificial grass bases

Because it compacts, it creates a strong and stable foundation.

🔹 Clean Stone
Clean stone contains no dust or fines, meaning water can drain through it easily. This makes it ideal for:
