Yn dathlu 25 mlynedd llwyddiannus yn LBS Port Talbot. 🎉

May 2001 marked a big moment for LBS, our first venture outside of Carmarthenshire, transforming a former Vauxhall dealership on Cramic Way into a brand new branch. 🚗

Car parts, tyres, oil-soaked bodywork, a spray booth, showroom counter and MOT pits all had to go before a single brick could be sold. 🧱

It took a dedicated crew of four to get us trade-ready, turning a mammoth task into a proper LBS team effort from day one. 💪

On 29th May 2001, LBS Builders Merchants Port Talbot officially opened, complete with a dedicated LBS Kitchens and Bathrooms showroom. 🏡
🛁 2013: Total Plumbing arrived, expanding our specialist plumbing and heating range. 🔧
♻️ 2023: We launched our Renewables Centre, helping South Wales build smarter and greener. 🌱

Today, Port Talbot supports trade professionals and homeowners with building materials, plumbing supplies, heating, boilers, kitchens, bathrooms, tools, landscaping materials and everyday trade and DIY essentials.

25 years later, today’s Port Talbot team keeps that service going across the counter, showroom, yard and deliveries. 🚛

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Arthur 🌟

Great service is built by great people, and we're proud to have Arthur as one of our Counter Sales Assistants at Total Plumbing Carmarthen. 🚿

Each month, we select someone to feature in our Staff Spotlight, recognising their hard work, commitment, and contribution to the business.

Usually, the answers come back thoughtful and professional… but then there’s Arthur. 👀

Known and loved by both customers and our teams for his personality, his responses had us laughing that much, we couldn’t not share them… even if they are a little unhinged.

What is your role at LBS?
"I'm not entirely sure... possibly punching bag?"

When did you join the team?
"Well, it started when my dad told me to stop being a waster and get a job. He asked around, I applied, and thankfully, I really enjoy it here! So that's a win. 💪"

What do you enjoy about your job?
"Making people laugh! Just kidding, it's the rush of the plumbing world."

Do you have any hobbies?
"I make music 🎶 . I also draw."

If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
"A single onion. 🧅"
(This one gave us concerns... 😶)

Tell us about a moment where you felt really appreciated at work.
"I got £5 for finding a code for a tap cartridge 🤑. It is probably the highlight of my life."

What did you want to be growing up?
"Someone who did very little work and got everything for nothing... I failed."

Who do you work with that makes your day feel brighter?
"Perry the platypus. He just gets me."
(Perry is a stuffed animal, found in the Carmarthen Showroom. 🤦)

How do you maintain a positive outlook in life?
"Every day I look in the mirror and bask in my own glory." 🪞

Tell us about your self-care routine.
"Cold showers. 🥶 I could take on anyone after a cold shower. Adrenaline is power."

Whether he’s hunting down tap codes or preparing for his worldwide music tour, Arthur keeps the energy high at the counter.
