We were at the RAF Museum today delivering a bespoke workshop on behalf of the RAF Museum Learning team ✈️

We welcomed a fantastic group of Year 10 students from St Peter’s Collegiate Academy, who took on the challenge:

“To develop a logistics system to transport goods from an aircraft to a land vehicle—quickly and safely.”

Working in teams, students designed, built, tested, refined, and ultimately presented their solutions at the end of the day. Along the way, they stepped into real RAF roles, including:
• Engineer Officer
• Vehicle & Mechanical Equipment Technician
• Electrician
• Advanced Manufacture & Repair Technician

The aim? To explore careers within the RAF while developing practical STEM skills.
This is what we do.

We design and deliver bespoke workshops tailored to your organisation’s objectives—fully aligned with the Science, D&T, Engineering and Maths curriculum. From planning and resourcing to delivery and impact evaluation, we handle everything (including all the paperwork for schools!).

If your organisation is looking to deliver meaningful outreach with a clear target audience, get in touch—we’ll take care of the rest.

Thinking about a future in engineering? 🔧

An apprenticeship could be the perfect place to start. You’ll learn on the job, gain real hands-on experience, and work towards recognised qualifications.

Not sure where to begin? You’re not alone. Many learners know they’re interested in engineering but aren’t sure about the best route in, the entry requirements, or what training actually involves.

We’ve answered some of the most common questions to help you take that first step.

We had a fantastic Royal Academy of Engineering today, delivered as part of the campaign at King Edward Northfield School for Girls

I worked with 60 Year 9 students, which is actually my favourite year group to work with 😀. Why? Because I absolutely love seeing the progression throughout the day. At the start, many students can lack confidence and self-belief, but by the end of the workshop it’s amazing to see them blossom as key concepts begin to make sense 💡.

We worked on a newly developed context created by Rob Bennett. It made a real difference delivering something I hadn’t developed myself. The students really embraced it, and it was a genuine challenge for both them and me!

These workshops offer invaluable opportunities for students to be exposed to a range of roles and role models across and , wonderful to be joined by a wonderful STEM Ambassadors Neil who supported the day, by the end of the day the students were definitely feeling empowered.

To finish off my fabulous day, I met up with the wonderful Fiona McGarry to collect my badge from Enginuity, as I was unable to attend the 365 Live Event.

This is a superb campaign that Fiona has championed — we need more role models like you who are such passionate advocates for these sectors 🙌🏻

And anyone who knows me knows… I absolutely love a badge! 😀

I’ll be wearing this one with absolute pride.

🌿 A little reminder… 🌿

My book launch for Eva’s Voice is this Saturday 14th March at 11am at Wellington Library, Telford.

I’ll be reading the story Eva’s Voice, sharing our journey and raising awareness about autistic burnout and how deeply it can affect our children and families.

I will also be singing “Time to Heal,” the song from the book — a song I wrote for Eva during a time when she was very poorly. It was a song that helped us both slow down, breathe, and rest when everything felt overwhelming.

I truly can’t wait to see you there and share this moment together. 💛

📚 Copies of the book will be available to buy for £10
💷 Please bring cash as my card machine doesn’t always pick up signal!
🎨 There will also be colouring pictures for children, so little ones are very welcome.

Thank you so much for all the support. It means the world to me.
See you on Saturday ✨

Following International Women’s Day, on our funders wanted to do something meaningful to continue celebrating and supporting young women.

Through the funded programme at -Comm Training, one of our key partners, Aerospace, generously used one of their funding days to create an inspiring event for girls. What better opportunity than to invite students from the programme?

Working in collaboration with Howmet, we designed a mock assessment day, welcoming girls from New Road Academy, Madeley Academy and Abraham Darby School.

The day gave students a real insight into engineering careers and included:
🔹 An introduction to the Howmet team and inspiring female role models
🔹 A health and safety induction
🔹 A tour of the site, where the girls researched and investigated the company
🔹 A business improvement challenge
🔹 An engineering challenge
🔹 A mock interview experience

For the business improvement challenge, the girls had just 40 minutes to plan and prepare a presentation before delivering it to two managers on site.

They were incredible — confident, articulate and full of insightful ideas.

When I asked one student how she was able to present so confidently, she gave a brilliant answer: she said her confidence came from being surrounded by other girls.

A powerful reminder of how important representation, support and opportunity are in helping young women thrive in STEM.

A huge thank you to the team at Howmet Aerospace for helping to create such an inspiring experience.
