A WikiHouse build like this one produces around 100kgCO₂e/m² across all of the materials that are added to it, but the timber chassis alone sequesters 350kgCO₂e/m². Last year we created this plywood and pine staircase for a local project. The client was renovating a cottage and needed a bespoke staircase to fit the odd shaped space. Interesting one to machine.

Another demonstration of the versatility of machined plywood! We've also just completed a second staircase which will create the access to the 2nd floor. Follow to see how that comes out.

Sometimes it helps being tall when building your WikiHouse, but it's always nice to be doing it in the sunshine. This is one of the finishing parts being applied to new WikiHouse café building. We were incredibly lucky to get this weather in November to get the chassis all finished up.

The finished display unit. This birch plywood shelving set will be used to show caramics at crafts and pottery shows by . Deborah's beautiful work will look lovely on these slim shelves. Easy to assemble and disassemble on site at exhibitions, it should compliment her art quite nicely.

Things have been progressing rapidly on site at our current project. Ground floor structure is complete with the help of volunteers who built the components over the weekend. In just a couple of days the site contractor has put all of those parts together. We'll be delivering the next batch at the back end of next week. Excited to see the finished thing!

This building has certainly seen some things over the years but we doubt it's ever seen this much sawdust. Our "new" premesis dates back to the late 1800s. Originally built as the towns cattle market, it's also seen use as a machine tool makers and a kitchen and bathroom showroom. Soon to be a state of the art digital fabrication facility and a community hub for the town. We're excited for what's to come for us and this space. Don't think we'll be painting these doors though. They've got stories to tell.
