🟦 SMART FLOOR WEDNESDAY 🟦

Ever had a polished floor looking spot on… then applied the sealer and suddenly it looks patchy? 👀

It’s easy to blame the sealer, but often it’s highlighting inconsistencies that were already present in the floor.

Common causes can include:
• Different levels of porosity across the slab
• Areas ground more aggressively absorbing more product
• Low spots holding excess sealer
• Uneven densifier application
• Residue left behind before sealing
• Applying too much product or allowing it to sit on the surface

The key is getting the floor as uniform as possible before the sealer goes down.
Consistent grinding, proper scratch refinement, even densifier application, thorough cleaning and allowing the floor to dry properly all play a part.

Then comes the sealer — applied at the correct coverage rate for an even finish.
A sealer can enhance a great polished floor, but it won’t hide inconsistencies. In fact, it can make them much more noticeable.

🟦 SMART FLOOR WEDNESDAY 🟦

It’s not always the polishing that makes the biggest difference.

This industrial floor is being joint filled using Metzger McGuire RS 88, installed through a two-component polymer pump.

Designed to fill and protect saw-cut control joints in concrete floors, RS 88 helps support the joint edges and reduce spalling caused by hard-wheeled traffic.

Using a polymer pump makes light work of larger areas, consistently metering, mixing and dispensing both components as you work.

The process:
Joint preparation → RS 88 pumped into the joints → Cure → Excess shaved flush → Clean finished joint.

It might only be one part of the flooring system, but proper joint filling can make a big difference to the appearance, durability and long-term performance of an industrial concrete floor.

We’ve got two important updates for our customers.

🚚 Delivery Update
After experiencing too many delays with our current pallet provider, we’re moving to a new delivery company to provide a more reliable and consistent service.

Delivery prices will remain unchanged for now, but due to ongoing increases in oil and transport costs, we’ll review these after the first month and keep customers informed of any changes.

We also have some exciting news to share.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working closely with our strategic partners to reduce our costs, and most importantly, pass those savings directly on to our customers.

This will allow us to offer more competitive pricing across a wide range of Husqvarna and National Flooring Equipment (NFE) machines.

We’ll have another update to share in the next couple of weeks with more details on the new pricing and the machines included.
