A really good book on several levels. The account of his voyage from the med across the Indian ocean and back would have been a good read on its own. However an examination of the possible ways the Ancient traders did their voyaging is added as well. Nobody is better qualified to express views about their travels than Rod. He has after all travelled all of the old trading routes in a sailing boat.
