Site progression update from the University College Dublin Sports Complex 🏗️

Great to see continued progress on site with Dara McGowan across two building units, where a performance-led approach is driving the facade installation process🙌🏻

EXOPERM MONO 250 SA is being installed as the primary external membrane, helping to expedite facade installation through its fully self-adhered application while delivering a vapour-open, windtight layer to the external envelope.

To support long-term building performance, Partel carried out detailed build-up reviews alongside WUFI hygrothermal modelling, enabling assessment of interstitial condensation risk and optimisation of moisture safety within the structure🏢

CONEXO has also been applied at junctions and penetrations to maintain airtight continuity throughout the building envelope.

Projects like this highlight the value of early-stage analysis, correct system integration, and efficient onsite application in delivering buildings that perform as designed.

Last week, Shane Cogan was on the road across the US representing Partel and supporting the continued growth of high-performance building solutions across North America. 🇺🇸

From assisting with a VaraPlus installation in Georgia to supporting the growing momentum behind Exoperm 250 SA alongside the OrePac Building Products team in Salt Lake City, it was fantastic to see the level of interest and engagement across every stop.

The week also included valuable meetings in the Bay Area with suppliers focused on bringing premium, high-performance building products to market, with strong conversations around innovation, durability, and better building envelope performance.

The trip wrapped up with plans to continue building momentum and supporting the growing demand for high-performance building envelope solutions across the US.

Great to visit NMITE Skylon Campus last month and spend time with the BSc Construction Management students discussing the role of airtightness in modern construction🏗️

Thanks to our colleague Jack Howard for leading the session and sharing his technical expertise and practical experience with the students👏🏻

Airtightness may not always be the most visible element of a building envelope, but it has a major impact on energy efficiency, thermal comfort, durability, and overall building performance🌿

It was fantastic to combine technical discussion with hands-on learning, giving students the opportunity to work directly with vapour control membranes on timber and see how installation quality and detailing are just as critical as design intent🏠

Achieving airtightness is about far more than selecting the right products. It takes attention to detail on site, skilled installation, and teams that understand how critical every junction is to overall building performance🌿
