Stephen Murtagh and Sons was established in 1887 as Provender Millers/Grain merchants. In 1930 the company moved to the Smithfield area and in 1955 they were delighted to purchase second premises on the site of an old cattle mart in Ashbourne. At that time there were only three other business’s on the main street. Murtaghs has been at the heart of the community ever since. With a view to benefitin

g from better pricing and support Murtaghs became a member of the Topline brand and buying group in 2007 undertaking a full store revamp and rebrand in 2009. Now a fully branded Topline Murtaghs store and definitely reaping the rewards.
