Crop Update from Co. Wexford 🌱
One of the team out walking the fields this week checking on our Lynx spring beans, drilled on the 10th of March and now beginning to flower nicely. 👌
The crop will receive a fungicide, phosphite and trace element application over the next few days to help maintain crop health and maximise potential heading into the season ahead.
Great to see crops progressing well across the county. 🌾

🌿 Proudly supporting the Tintern Walk 🌿

We’re delighted to be part of this fantastic community event taking place on Thursday 21st May at 11am.

The walk will start and finish at The Vine Pub Car Park, followed by a unique underwater photography display by Wexford Sub Aqua diver Ivan Donoghue at The Vine Cottage Bar. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Agronomist George Blackburn reports Graham winter wheat after beans is looking in excellent condition 👌
✔️ 4 clean leaves still intact
✔️ Flag leaf half emerged
✔️ T2 fungicide planned in 5 days time

🌾 This week’s Irish Farmers Journal Yield Watch is all about the T2 fungicide application- and our own George Blackburn is sharing his expert advice 👨‍🌾
The crop has come a long way since 31 March, with the flag leaf now fully emerged and T2 due to go out this week. George’s programme includes Revystar, folpet, Phylgreen seaweed and Optiplant to keep crops healthy and maximise potential after a challenging season.
Farmer Isaac Wheelock is delighted with the transformation and pushing on for a 5t/ac crop 💪🌱

Out crop walking today with the Cooney Furlong Grain agronomy team in Wexford, inspecting a strong field of Mermaid spring barley sown on 21st March and now approaching GS30 🌱
The crop is progressing well and is due to receive its T1 fungicide along with a PGR next week to help protect yield potential and maintain standing power.
