Hi all, that’s a wrap, we are done for the holidays and will be back in action on the 5th January 2026.
We would like to sincerely thank all our customers, both new and old for this past year and wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
In the past few years we have looked to various groups or charities to donate to, all with good cause.
This year we went close to home for very good family friends of mine.
“Angel is a young mother, married to Jordan Kennedy who should be enjoying life with her little girl and her partner. Instead, she is fighting every single day just to stay alive and keep going.
Unfortunately, In 2018, Angel was diagnosed with a rare and incurable condition called Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2). This disease causes multiple tumours to grow throughout the body, including the brain, spine, and nerves.
Angel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the South East Technological University in 2022. Angel graduated on the 2nd of November and had her first of many surgeries just days later on the 11th of November.
Since her diagnosis, Angel’s life has been a relentless battle. She has undergone 12 brain surgeries, 28 rounds of stereotactic radiotherapy, and countless hospital admissions.
She now lives with a brain injury, chronic pain, paralysis of one vocal cord affecting her ability to speak, hearing loss, balance issues and severely reduced independence, among others.
Recently, Angel was given another devastating diagnosis: Bulbar Dysfunction, a condition that affects vital functions such as swallowing, breathing, and speaking. She was hospitalised in Dublin, facing difficult choices — major surgery with life-altering outcomes or palliative care.
Despite this, Angel’s determination to fight for her and her daughter’s future remains unshaken.
Angel’s illness has taken away so much — her independence, her ability to work, and even simple joys like bringing Ivy to school or going for walks. What has never changed is her love for Ivy and her refusal to give up.”
I reached out to Damien Kennedy a friend and former team mate with Waterford City RFC, to help out and what we could do.
They put the donation torward hearing aides following Angels surgery as they were told she will be completely deaf on her left side, and specific hearing aides will help in her battle.

We would like to wish Angel, Jordan their daughter Ivy and family, well this Christmas and we will follow their progress throughout the year.
“A huge thank you to Eoghan Hartey and HW Fasteners for so generously donating to the fundraiser set up for me back in September 🤍
So grateful for the kindness, generosity, and community support, it really doesn’t go unnoticed. 💛

HW Fasteners Ltd also donated a number of toys and presents to the Waterford branch of the Red Cross to support families with limited resources at this time and at any time of the year.
Over 380 families were supported by the kind donations from the people of Waterford. Every child deserves a house and a Christmas present.
Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and Peace to you all.
