What’s more exciting than learning design? Experiencing it firsthand!
On Mar. 26, 2025, the talented Master of Design students from the Ceramic & Glass Design discipline at National Institute of Design, India (NID), Ahmedabad, stepped into our Manufacturing Facility located at Mehsana, Gujarat for an immersive journey into the world of mosaics.
From raw materials to refined masterpieces, from sourcing to large-scale production, and from precision to creativity, they didn’t just observe—they absorbed. Because in this industry, great surfaces aren’t just created; they’re crafted with mastery.
From the very first interaction, wherein we traced the legacy of Italia Group, whose expertise extends across distinguished brands—Piccolo Porcelain Mosaics, Palladio Glass Mosaics, and Veneto Recycled Glass Mosaics — these young enthusiasts navigated through a world where each material tells a story, every process shows commitment, and every innovation reflects the pursuit of excellence.
As the tour unfolded, weaving through the maze of raw material procurement, stringent quality testing, and mass production, the students observed, questioned, and engaged in discussions that illuminated not only the technical processes but also the philosophy that governs how materials are selected, refined, and transformed into surfaces that define spaces with elegance and endurance.
Under the meticulous guidance of subject matter experts at the facility, who walked them through the nuances of maintaining exceptional quality standards even in large-scale industrial production, the students gained an insider’s perspective on the balance between craftsmanship and technology, wherein precision is not an afterthought but an uncompromising commitment embedded at every stage of manufacturing.
As the day drew to a close, leaving behind a trail of insights, reflections, and newfound appreciation for the synergy between design, innovation, and industrial expertise, the students departed not merely with knowledge but with a deeper understanding that in the realm of mosaic surface art , excellence is not just about what is created but how it is envisioned, executed, and elevated to an art form that withstands the test of time.
