Janta Dal (United) Delegation Calls on Lieutenant Governor, Raises Tourism and Daily Wagers' Issues

Srinagar, July 4: A high-level delegation of Janta Dal (United), Jammu & Kashmir, led by its State President G.M. Shaheen, today called on the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, and held detailed discussions on several pressing public issues affecting the Union Territory.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed grave concern over the prolonged crisis confronting the tourism sector, stating that thousands of families dependent on tourism-related activities have suffered immense economic hardship. G.M. Shaheen urged the Lieutenant Governor to initiate immediate measures to revive tourism, restore visitor confidence, and provide comprehensive assistance to all stakeholders associated with the industry.

The delegation also forcefully highlighted the plight of daily wagers across Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that thousands of workers continue to face financial insecurity due to the non-regularization of their services and the absence of a comprehensive welfare mechanism. The party appealed for urgent intervention to address their long-pending grievances and ensure justice for this vulnerable workforce.

The Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that all the issues raised during the meeting would receive due consideration. He conveyed that the administration is committed to resolving these concerns at the earliest through appropriate measures.

Speaking after the meeting, G.M. Shaheen expressed optimism over the Lieutenant Governor's positive response and hoped that concrete action would soon be taken to provide relief to the tourism sector and daily wagers.
