In architectural lighting, glare is not a minor issue. It directly affects user comfort and spatial perception.
Left-
Visible LED source, shallow recess, low cut-off angle -direct glare and visual discomfort.
Right-
Deep recessed luminaire with honeycomb louver,cut-off angle>35degree - controlled beam, reduced UGR , improved visual comfort.
Same space.same output level.Completely different human experience.Lighting quality is determined not by lumens alone but by optic control, shielding geometry and source visibility. When designing ceilings the question should not only be "How much light?"but also "From what angle is the source visible?"
