When I first started making my gongs, there were very few artisanal gong makers in the Western world. Over the years, I’ve seen many gong makers emerge—some are very creative artists, others are simply skilled at marketing. I’m not passing judgment; these are personal choices that I respect. I’ve asked myself many times what the best way is to bring my creations to the world, and I’ve always come to the same conclusion: Don’t force it—let them be free. This work isn’t just a business.
