合計15メートルほどのウォールナットのコの字カウンターを加工中。耳カットのウォールナットカウンターは初めてでしたが、赤身だけの感じもとても良い雰囲気です。
We're currently working on a U-shaped walnut counter, approximately 15 meters in total length. This is our first time working with a walnut counter with the edges cut, and the look of just the heartwood is really nice.

While L-shaped and U-shaped counters are common, it's difficult to imagine how the wood grain will actually connect without seeing them laid out. At Itakura, you can arrange the counters to see how they will look in place and consider manufacturing options.

ウェンジのカウンター加工開始しました。製材したてや削りたてはこの細かい縞が赤っぽい色で全体的に白っぽい色に見えますが、数時間ごとに黒くなっていく様子が面白い！完成する頃にはかっこいい黒になっているでしょう。
We've started processing the wenge counter. When it's freshly milled or planed, these fine stripes give it a reddish tint, making the whole piece look whitish, but it's fascinating to watch it gradually turn black every few hours! By the time it's finished, it should have a cool black finish.

The star of the Itakura showroom, a 3-meter Claro walnut board, has finally been shipped! After its final finishing touches, it will travel to our customers. This board is from the very best log, and specifically the one with the finest grain, that we purchased when we first went to America to buy Claro walnut logs.
