POST-TENSIONING SOLUTION FOR A 31,000 M² CONVENTION CENTER IN PHNOM PENH
Located within the Grand Landmark 271 commercial complex in Phnom Penh, Chip Mong Convention Center is a large-scale convention and exhibition center developed by Chip Mong Land, a member of Chip Mong Group.
With a total gross floor area of 31,000 m², the project places high demands on spatial functionality, structural solutions, and completion schedule. To meet the schedule requirements set by the developer, MDI maintains a stable workforce of 50–60 staff, engineers, and workers, ensuring coordinated project ex*****on in line with the planned timeline.
As a project partner, MDI serves as the turnkey contractor for the post-tensioning cable system, undertaking the full scope from design and material and equipment supply to the installation and construction of the post-tensioning system. This integrated approach ensures consistency throughout the entire process, from engineering design to on-site ex*****on.
The post-tensioned slab solution implemented by MDI enables longer spans and reduces reliance on columns, creating spacious and flexible areas for conferences and exhibitions. At the same time, post-tensioning helps optimize slab thickness, reduce structural dead loads, and support better control of the construction schedule.
