Jaleel and Sons commenced business operations in 1937 as a family concern trading in Rubber, Copra and other minor products. Having grown over the years in 1950 it became a limited liability company with family members as shareholders. Jaleel and sons was selected to trade with China in 1953 under the agreement China Ceylon barter trade. In 1960’s Jaleel and sons was a leading rubber exporter of c
repe sheets to countries such as USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands and Spain. As for diversification purpose Jaleel and Sons Rubber exports was taken over by Rajapaksha Trading Company Ltd and Jaleel and sons was given the franchise of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Limited to distribute its Lubricants and Solvent Products. In 1994 Chevron Lubricants Lanka Limited appointed Jaleel and sons as the main Industrial distributor for Lubricants and solvent products. At present Jaleel and sons have a customer base of more than 900, which includes Corporate, medium and small-scale industries. This also includes manufacturing, Power and construction sectors. In 2014 Jaleel and sons undertook the operation of Ramco cement with its subsidiary company Westgate Holdings Private Limited. In 2015 Jaleel and Sons have started to locally manufacture products with the guidance of FAIRMATE india.
