We recently had the opportunity to visit the campus of Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara as part of the ongoing vision for Escuela 2055.

Alongside another orphanage, Mama Cleo’s Boys Home, our staff and volunteers joined us as we spent time sharing ideas, asking questions, and dreaming about what this school could become.

We’re so grateful to the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara team for welcoming us and creating space for this kind of collaboration.

Step by step, the vision continues to grow.

Recientemente tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar el campus del Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara como parte de la visión continua de Escuela 2055.

Junto a otra casa hogar, Mama Cleo’s Boys Home, nuestro equipo y voluntarios nos acompañaron mientras compartíamos ideas, hacíamos preguntas y soñábamos sobre lo que esta escuela podría llegar a ser.

Estamos muy agradecidos con el equipo del Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara por recibirnos y abrir este espacio para colaborar juntos.

Paso a paso, la visión sigue creciendo.

On Wednesday, April 15th, the children of Love in Action (Amor en Acción) Children's Home will sit down alongside architecture students from Tecnológico de Monterrey to do something truly special: design their own school.

The CoDesign Workshop: School 2055 is a participatory design experience where the voices of the kids who will actually use this building get to shape what it looks like and how it feels. Because who better to dream up a school than the children themselves?

🤝 And we need you, too! We want all friends, volunteers and partners to be part of this moment. Together, alongside architecture students from Tec de Monterrey, education students from the Benemérita y Centenaria Escuela Normal de Jalisco, and members of our community, we'll co-create a vision for a school built with love and purpose, right here in Chapala, Jalisco.

During this second visit with Tecnológico de Monterrey and the Benemérita y Centenaria Escuela Normal de Jalisco, we continued building the vision for Escuela 2055—but this time, the conversation grew.

We invited volunteers and supporters who are already part of Love in Action to share their ideas and perspectives alongside our girls.

Together, we asked important questions:
What do we dream this school could become?
What challenges might come along the way?
And how could it impact the community beyond our home?

Every voice added something valuable.
We’re still dreaming—but now, we’re dreaming together.

Durante esta segunda visita junto al Tecnológico de Monterrey y la Benemérita y Centenaria Escuela Normal de Jalisco, continuamos construyendo la visión de Escuela 2055—pero esta vez, la conversación creció.

Invitamos a voluntarios y personas que ya son parte de Amor en Acción a compartir sus ideas y perspectivas junto a nuestras niñas.

Juntos hicimos preguntas importantes:
¿Qué soñamos que esta escuela llegue a ser?
¿Qué retos podrían surgir en el camino?
¿Y cómo podría impactar a la comunidad más allá de nuestra casa hogar?

Cada voz sumó algo valioso.
Seguimos soñando… pero ahora, soñamos juntos.

What a special month for Love in Action! ❤️

We are so grateful to Herbert Lehmann and Angela Mendoza Lehmann of Blue Rose Bistro and their amazing team of ladies (Maggie Weller, Martha Gleeson, Barbara Haybarger and Sharon Sacco) for hosting this month’s fundraising event.

Because of this evening and everyone who gave, we are moving forward with:
✨ Remodeling the bathrooms in our on-campus school
✨ Raising funds toward a new van for our girls

Your support is helping create a better, more comfortable space for our girls to learn and grow every day.

We are excited to share the beginning of a meaningful collaboration called Escuela 2055.

This project brings together Oak Life, Love in Action, the Benemérita y Centenaria Escuela Normal de Jalisco, and the Architecture Department of Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara to imagine the future of education for children growing up in orphanages.

Over the next few months, students from both the architecture and education programs will work alongside our girls to help design a vision for the future of our on-campus school.

At Love in Action, our school currently serves our girls from Kindergarten through middle school, but our hope is to one day expand — allowing our girls to continue their studies through high school and even open our classrooms to children from other orphanages.

Through collaboration, creativity, and the voices of our girls, this project will explore how architecture, education, and trauma-informed care (TBRI) can come together to create spaces where children can truly thrive.

We look forward to sharing this journey with you over the coming months.

Nos llena de alegría compartir el inicio de una colaboración muy especial llamada Escuela 2055.

Este proyecto reúne a Oak Life, Love in Action, la Benemérita y Centenaria Escuela Normal de Jalisco, y el Departamento de Arquitectura del Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara para imaginar juntos el futuro de la educación para niños que crecen en casas hogar.

Durante los próximos meses, estudiantes de arquitectura y educación estarán trabajando junto a nuestras niñas para soñar y diseñar una visión para el futuro de nuestra escuela dentro del hogar.

Actualmente, en Amor en Acción nuestra escuela atiende a nuestras niñas desde kínder hasta secundaria. Pero nuestro deseo es poder crecer aún más — permitiendo que nuestras niñas continúen sus estudios hasta preparatoria, e incluso abrir nuestras puertas para que niños de otras casas hogar también puedan estudiar en un ambiente seguro, lleno de apoyo y oportunidades.

A través de la creatividad, la colaboración y las voces de nuestras niñas, este proyecto explorará cómo la arquitectura, la educación y la Intervención Relacional Basada en la Confianza (IRBC) pueden unirse para crear espacios donde los niños realmente puedan aprender, crecer y prosperar.

En los próximos meses estaremos compartiendo un poco más de este proceso y de lo que se irá desarrollando.

We’re taking a moment to celebrate our February birthday girls! 🎉

Last month we had the joy of celebrating them with good food, cake, piñatas, and lots of laughter. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day special by donating food, gifts, cake, and party supplies.

Moments like these remind us how kind God is. He always looks out for our home and our needs, often by touching the hearts of people to give and bless our girls in such thoughtful ways.

Because of you, our girls felt truly loved and spoiled for their birthday month. We are so grateful. 💛

Tomemos un momento para celebrar a nuestras niñas que cumplieron años en febrero. 🎉

El mes pasado tuvimos la alegría de celebrarlas con buena comida, regalos, pastel, piñatas y muchas risas. Gracias a todos los que donaron comida, pasteles y cosas para la fiesta para hacer posible este día tan especial.

Momentos como estos nos recuerdan lo bondadoso que es Dios. Él siempre cuida de nuestro hogar y de nuestras necesidades, muchas veces tocando el corazón de las personas para bendecir a nuestras niñas de maneras tan especiales.

Gracias a ustedes, nuestras niñas se sintieron verdaderamente amadas y consentidas durante su mes de cumpleaños. Estamos muy agradecidos. 💛
