BEING THE SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE CHAIRMAN REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA CHIEF KAM ABIOYE AT THE INAUGURAL KWARA REAL ESTATE CONFERENCE (KWAREC) 2025 TITLED ASPIRING TO ELEVATE (ATE) HELD ON SATURDAY, 24TH MAY 2025 AT BANQUET HALL, ILORIN, KWARA STATE.

Distinguished guests, industry colleagues, respected government representatives, partners, and participants,

It is with great pride and heartfelt appreciation that I welcome you all to this inaugural edition of the Kwara Real Estate Conference (KWAREC) 2025 a significant milestone for us all in the real estate and development ecosystem.

This initiative, led by Jibzit Properties Limited in partnership with Kabad Nigeria Limited, and proudly endorsed by the Kwara State Government, is a clear testimony that Kwara is ready to take its place as a thriving hub for real estate growth and innovation.

As Chairman of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Kwara State Chapter, I am deeply honored by the recognition of our organization as a key stakeholder in this transformational event. Over the years, REDAN Kwara has remained committed to empowering developers, advocating enabling policies, and fostering collaborations that have opened doors of opportunity for many of our members.

Let me proudly affirm that REDAN Kwara is more than just an association we are a family of forward thinkers and change makers. We have walked side-by-side with our members in the journey of growth, offering professional guidance, market insights, and an ever open platform for partnership and progress. SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE MD Adewumi Abioye ON BEHALF OF THE CEO OF KAM ABIOYE NIGERIA LIMITED ON THE OCCASION OF THE COMMISSIONING OF ITS HOUSING ESTATE PROJECT AT EYENKORIN/BALLA ILORIN, KWARA STATE

It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you all today to the commissioning of this Housing Estate Project by Kam Abioye Nigeria Limited.

Kam Abioye Nigeria Limited has been in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria to construct five hundred (500) Housing Units comprising of two (2) and three (3) bedroom detached and semi-detached bungalows for Civil Servants, Personnels' of the Nigeria Armed Forces as well as Private Business Owners captured under the National Housing Fund Scheme.

Permit me to put on record, the tremendous cooperation that we have received from the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria – the major financier of this project.

With a population of over 170 million that is growing at an average rate of 3% per annum coupled with an annual rural – urban migration rate of over 5%, Nigeria is said to be in need of about seven hundred and twenty thousand (720, 000) housing units per annum.

Currently, the annual aggregate production is about one hundred thousand (100, 000) housing units, thereby leaving a huge gap. It is this gap that we strive to bridge with our modest effort through the partnership with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

The first phase of this project that is being commissioned today comprises of two hundred and fifty (250) housing units consisting of a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom bungalows.

The Estate is completed with the infrastructural development: –

Having recognized the importance of water in any household, we have provided and completed the installation of three industrial boreholes with submersible pumps, ground tanks and overhead tanks adequate enough to serve all the housing units in the Estate. The pipe reticulation works have also been completed and water flows in all the housing units.

On electricity supply, the Estate has the complement of one dedicated 500KVA transformer installed and all the housing units have been connected with electricity.

The internal roads in the Estate have been graded and finished with surface dressing & drainage system.

We wish to register our profound gratitude to the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and the Honourable Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) being represented by Hon Minister of State, Power, Works & Housing - Mustapha Baba Shehuri for finding time out of their busy schedule to commission this project. We also thank the Management and staff of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria for all the support towards the successful completion of this project. We equally thank the Kwara State Government and our host community, Eyenkorin/Balla, for the peace and cooperation we enjoyed while developing this project.

Finally, like Oliver Twist, we wish to solicit the support of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria for the development of the second phase of this Estate as a result of the excess demand for affordable housing by Civil Servants, members of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission Cooperative Society, Members of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), and as well as private investors that contribute to the National Housing Fund Scheme.

As we wish you all safe journey back to your various destinations, we sincerely thank you for being part of this memorable occasion.
