A cheap filter nearly became a very expensive shutdown.
Some years ago, a client approached us after experiencing repeated equipment performance issues in an industrial operation. Fuel contamination problems kept returning, maintenance costs were rising, and critical systems were becoming unreliable.
At first, the assumption was that the equipment itself was failing.
But after our team inspected the system, we discovered the real issue:
Counterfeit filtration products had entered the supply chain.
The filters looked almost identical to genuine Parker Racor products from the outside, but internally, the filtration quality and material standards were completely different.
The result was poor contaminant removal, faster wear on components, and growing operational risk.
That experience reinforced a lesson we still share with clients today:
In Oil & Gas and industrial operations, fake products are not just a procurement problem.
They are a reliability and safety problem.
At Offshore Dimensions Limited, we strongly encourage companies to source only from authorized distributors to avoid counterfeit products that compromise equipment performance and HSSE standards.
Original components protect systems, reduce downtime, and support long-term operational efficiency.
