🔧Large diameter connectors with advanced monitoring technology – testing complete 🌊

We have completed testing on a 32" MORGRIP® connector as part of a wider project for 3 off 32" MORGRIP® connectors. One unit was shipped earlier this year for an urgent deployment in the middle east.

Designed with subsea pressure transducers for continuous seal monitoring and bespoke clad sealing features, the connectors were tailored to meet the client’s specific requirements.

The two remaining connectors are in final inspection and will be shipped as part of the client’s contingency stock.

Follow us for more subsea engineering updates or message John Spain for any project inquiries.

We have now started the build of 2 off 14" 3000Ri MORGRIP® Diverless Connectors for an urgent scope in the North Sea, with SIT planned for next month and installation scheduled for August 2026.

Factory Acceptance Test, in accordance with client requirements and DNV type approval, is scheduled to verify Connector functionality and operational parameters ahead of deployment. This will cover the connector package together with the associated installation equipment, providing an additional level of assurance before mobilisation.

CSS takes on the Bergen City Marathon 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

A great effort from the Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) team at the Bergen City Marathon, joining 25 000 other participants across the different race distances.

As Nikolai Kalvenes, Project Manager at CSS, shared, it was a brilliant event with a great atmosphere, and a good chance to step away from the desk and take part together as a team.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 5K, and a special mention to Rune Fonnes Nilsen for completing the half marathon!

Earlier this week, 4 containers of rental tooling from Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) were shipped to the North Sea in support of a major offshore campaign, during which 2 off diver-installed 28" MORGRIP® connectors will be deployed and installed on a major oil export pipeline.

The connectors will be installed in parallel at two separate locations and supported locally on the vessels by CSS technicians and Engineers.

Included in the latest shipment are CSS Long Stroke Tensioners — field-proven tooling designed to provide extended stroke capability while maintaining the compactness of regular tensioners, helping reduce installation time offshore.

“It is always great to see our connectors progress from design to deployment. A special thank you to the team that has supported the design, build and upcoming offshore mobilisation.” - Mark Austin, CSS Senior Project Engineer.
