EV BATTERY DIAGNOSTICS & REPAIR (EV 3-1) | Hastings

28 April @ 9:00 am - 29 April @ 5:00 pm
$844.00
This EV Battery Diagnostics and Repair seminar is super hands-on, firstly we’ll look at live data recordings and real practical battery problem cases which we’ll analyse, diagnose, modify and then upload. The practical cases will be broken down to the greatest detail. This EV seminar will help you realise the capability of your skills combined with the power of your scan tool.

We cover the removal and the opening up of an HV battery, including cooling, ventilation and sealing of the battery pack. We cover in detail the breakers, SMRs and rush resistor.

You will learn simple external diagnostic procedures and more complex internal diagnostics, including mechanical impact protection inside the Leaf battery.
Safety is our first priority, we have added an AECS research paper made for first responders, however modified for technicians. We’ll show you what you can touch when an EV’s or hybrid high voltage system is damaged.
We’ll look at battery-cell quality diagnostics, we go through the testing and evaluation of individual batteries from Nissan and Renault and will be using scan tool data and oscilloscope data.
We’ll conduct interlock system analyses, we’ll inspect every aspect of the interlock system, where the breakpoints are and which ECU records an ‘open’ within an interlock system, and what happens with that information.

I got the old girl going over the holidays.
Go 1928 Chrysler!
It was fun dealing with nearly 100 year old technology for a change. Puts my daily work in a different perspective.

Dear AECS public.

Firstly, happy new year. My wife and I had a great break, I hope you did too.
Secondly I have not posted for a while as we simply have been too busy. Training seminars over booked, too many events booked, equipment sales went through the roof, etc. etc.
Frankly it became frustrating, as I could not spend the amount of time on each task as I would have liked. At that point it all becomes just work, rather than being passionately delivering the best knowledge and equipment.

In July 2023 we entered negotiations with Sean Squires, these negotiations had as result that in Aug 2023 Sean has taken over the equipment sales and service side of AECS. His company is called AECS Equipment, were as the original, 23 year old, company AECS (focus on training) is still called AECS Ltd.

With my focus solely on Training and Sean's focus being solely on Equipment has already proven very successful.

It is my wish that you keep supporting us for many years to come, we are fighting fit and ready to assist you!

Thank you and kind regards
Herbert Leijen.
AECS Ltd

P.s. unbelievably we have already heard that our opposition is spreading rumours that we have gone out of business and other rubbish. Please ignore those rumours. There is 'no smoke and no fire' so to speak.

Not all Air-conditioning Service Equipment are equal.

With High voltage systems having service ports to which any Aircon service equipment can be connected. it is easy to make costly mistakes.

Invest in training and equipment that can do the job properly.

Both the Brainbee 9350 (R134a) and the Brainbee 9450 (R1234yf) are capable to switch seamlessly and automatically over from traditional AC systems to high voltage AC systems using a patented system, with no trace contamination.

Oil and Electricity don't mix!

This story is about a 2020 Electric Vehicle that had AC service done with equipment that was not up to scratch.

The equipment allowed conductive oil into the High Voltage Aircon Compressor with VERY expensive damage as a result.

Do not get caught. To make things more complex, we see these issues appear usually 3 to 5 months after the contamination has occurred. Very hard to fall back onto for example your Fridgee contractor, how do you prove that it was their fault? And how do you get compensation out of any insurance? The case described is still being fought, that is why there are no identifying attributes in the article.
I hope the article makes you think, and look for our equipment’s quality when you want to do AC service.
