The Role:
We are looking for another counter / yard person to help us grow our business in the Porirua area. You will work in a fast-paced team to coordinate hire bookings, answer phone calls, service customers, and process sales from trade customers.
This is a varied and fast paced role at times, you will work with large contractors, local tradies, and people just wanting to mow their lawns.
This is a full-time role that requires commitment to an early morning start and the odd Saturday based around 45-hour weeks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving at our counter area; answering calls and serving customers
- Manage hire enquiries, bookings, quotes & demonstrate equipment
- Complete pre hire & post hire inspections before invoicing
- Loading/unloading vehicles & trailers
- Assist with deliveries and other operations
- Ensure hires for customers are prepared and processed promptly and accurately
- Organising mechanical repairs with the workshop
- Ensure complaints and issues raised by customers are quickly resolved
What you’ll need to succeed?
- Customer service and/ or trades experience eg, building, landscaping, contractor etc
- This role has heavy lifting & lots of moving around so you will need to be fit & active
- Good level of computer/IT literacy
- Have an interest in machinery and DIY projects
- Excellent customer service manner and communication skills both written and verbal
- You will be a team player not afraid to get your hands dirty
- Able to work some Saturdays on our roster
- Flexibility to get the job done, be energetic and have a good attitude
- A valid and current NZ driver’s licence
