Te Hau Tutū

Te Hau Tutū Nau mai, haere mai ki tēnei roopu hou, ko Te Pūtahitanga a te Rēhia. We are an independent Māori Theatre Collective formed in Wellington NZ in 2013.

Te Hau Tutū is an Independent Production Office for Wellington Māori Theatre Companies; Hāpai Productions, Tikapa, H-J Kilkelly, END Production, Mitch Tawhi Thomas. We advocate for opportunities; platforms and for support of Māori theatre practitioners producing Kaupapa Māori inspired Theatre here in Wellington, Aotearoa and the World. We have three new platforms in place to present our mahi in th

e Capital. The PŪTAHI FESTIVAL - our new works development platform; KIA MAU FESTIVAL - our main works presentation platform and THE NATIONAL MĀORI THEATRE HUI - a wānanga to bring practitioners together to reflect on the year that has been. We are able to practice as Māori theatre practitioners because of the hard battle fought by our predecessors to ensure Māori had a voice in the New Zealand Theatre Industry. E huri aku whakaaro ki ēnei Rangatira kua wheturangihia. Ko Don Selwyn koutou ko Wi Kuki Kaa, Hone Tuwhare, Tungia Baker, Bob Wiki me ko Rona Bailey. Moe mai i raro i te rangimarie o ōu tatou tūpuna.
