I do not distrust all unfamiliar faces. In fact, I trust most people I do not know. People I know personally would never do anything wrong either. This is not about doubting anyone at all.
However, opening the gate for anyone, even someone I know well, gives scammers an opening. They may arrive at the same time and use that chance to come in.

💌 To Our Valued Customers,

I want to share an important change to our payment terms — and explain openly why this is happening.

For a long time, I’ve offered installment plans to help make things easier for you. But now I must adjust this policy — not out of distrust, but out of practical necessity, based on how our laws work.



⚖️ THE LEGAL REALITY — PLEASE UNDERSTAND

Two key laws shape this decision:

🔹 1987 Philippine Constitution — Article III, Section 20

No person may be imprisoned for debt.
If someone cannot pay, I cannot enforce payment through arrest — it remains only a civil matter.

🔹 Recto Law

When payments stop, I may choose ONE action only:
✅ Collect the remaining balance — OR
✅ Recover the item
❌ NOT BOTH

This means the risk falls entirely on the seller. If payments aren’t completed, I cannot recover both the item AND what is owed. These protections exist to safeguard buyers — and rightly so — but they also leave me with very limited recourse. Over time, this becomes too heavy to sustain.

This is not about blaming anyone. It is simply how the law is designed — and as a small business, I can no longer carry that risk alone.



📅 EFFECTIVE DATE — SEPTEMBER 26, 2026

PETPOND will shift to STRICT CASH / FULL PAYMENT basis:

✅ All purchases → Cash or full payment upon transaction
❌ Installment plans will no longer be available
