🎯DIFFERENT TYPES OF AGGREGATES AND THEIR USES:

Make sure that you select the appropriate aggregate for the intended project. One smart move to start is to know the different types of aggregates.

✅ SAND/CRUSHED SAND - processed through a crusher, washed, and screened to size. Typically used for hollow blocks.
✅CRUSHED GRAVEL 3/8 - processed through a crusher, washed, and screened to size. Consists of clean crushed gravel. Typically used for asphalting and paving blocks
✅CRUSHED GRAVEL 3/4 - processed though a crusher and screened to size. Typically used for driveways, walkways, and buildings.
✅CRUSHED GRAVEL G1 - processed through a crusher, washed, and screened to size. Typically used for parking areas, drainage stone, and for drip edges around buildings.
✅ WASH COARSE SAND - processed through Separator to remove the larger stones. Composed of rounded sand size typically used for buildings .
✅ GRAVEL YY - processed through Separator. Consists of clean rounded stone with at least one fractured face. Typically used for stone walkways, hollow blocks and buildings.

A 12 m³ body dump truck carries only 15.6 tonnes of common earth — not 21.5 tonnes (the GVM limit). The truck body volume is the governing constraint, not the axle capacity. For dense rock, the GVM governs — fill only 75% of the body. Here is the calculation.

V_body=12 m³ | GVM=32,000 kg | W_tare=10,500 kg

COMMON EARTH (ρ_loose=1,296 kg/m³):
Volume limit: 12 × 1,296 = 15,552 kg = 15.6 tonnes ← governs
GVM limit: 21,500 kg → not reached
Payload = 15.6 tonnes | BCM = 8.89 m³

DENSE ROCK (ρ_loose=2,400 kg/m³):
Volume limit: 12 × 2,400 = 28,800 kg → EXCEEDS GVM!
GVM limit: 21,500 kg ← governs
Max fill: 21,500/2,400 = 8.96 m³ (only 75% of body)
Payload = 21.5 tonnes | BCM = 21,500/2,600 = 8.27 m³

RULE: For dense materials (rock, wet clay, ore), always calculate mass first — never fill the body.
