Centre for Poverty Alleviation A Project of IMTIAZ BEGUM FOUNDATION (Regd.) for the Poverty Alleviation through Skill Value Addition ~Prosperity Through Skills~

Centre is established to eradicate poverty through skills value addition while adhering to the concept of COMMUNITY PROSPERITY CENTRE. This is a comprehensive strategy to narrow the growing divide between “haves and have nots”. Our various short-term part-time technical training ventures are being successfully operating and enabling short-duration training and preparing the unemployed marginalized

youth of Pakistan to earn basic livelihood through decent means of earning by self employment. It also envisions interest-free loans (Qarz-e-Hasna) to settle as a seed money to their own small/micro level business. We are imparting stitching/tailoring training in the slums near Gulberg in the building of Lahore Lions Club and UPS manufacturing & repairing training in Kot Lakhpat in the building of the Door of Awareness. Few more projects under this innovative methodology of Economic Self Reliance are also being launched shortly. These skill sets include training on stitching/tailoring, computing, continental cooking, UPS manufacturing and repairing, Hair-Cutting, Cell Phone Repairing, Computer Hardware and its maintenance, Printers repair and maintenance, Motorbike/Car puncture training using the latest technology/tools etc. This unique Model of Poverty Alleviation is based upon basic theme of "Prosperity Through Skills". This theme primarily revolves around the concept of giving 2-6 months, market-driven, on-job training offered to the unemployed/semi-employed marginalized people of Pakistan which will enable them to earn minimum of around Rs 6000-15,000/- per month. It will give them Economic Empowerment especially in Southern and Upper Punjab in First Phase and then to Northern Areas, interior Sindh and Baluchistan in Second Phase.
