It may look small but can do a lot. If you know other controllers from MIDI-hardware, it does exactly what they do. Why so small? Not always you need 5 scanner inputs like in MRG2. Or onboard keyboard interface like in MIDI128 or MBBS. What if you only need to add a few potentiometers like pitchbend or mod to your MIDI line? Or transposer buttons to alter notes on the fly? New board announcement!

Please welcome the new analog MIDI expansion board. With 8 individual inputs for potentiometers, adding k***s to your MIDI controller have never been easier. It is also the first board to introduce new pot detection feature. At power up the board senses if there's anything connected to every input, and disables all empty inputs. This way no spurious MIDI messages show up in case of any interference, or accidental touch.

By popular demand, octave change feature has been added to new PEDSCANs. Press and hold the button for a second and it starts to blink. Then any note played in lowest 16 keys makes it work in one of 16 channels. But if you don't do that but press the button again, it starts to blink faster, meaning you can select starting octave now. So play any of white lowest 7 keys and new starting octave is selected. For example note C makes it play from the lowest possible note in MIDI, note D - one octave higher, note E yet another one higher, sometimes used by bass pedals, and note F makes it play starting at typical note in any 5-octave keyboard

After just a few months of non-existence, the PESDCAN MIDI controller is back in its newly designed form. This is as simple as you can get. Add contacts in 4x8 diode matrix and you have MIDI notes. No more complicated settings to be lost. Just set the MIDI channel and play. And yes, the onboard pushbutton is just for setting the MIDI channel. Low power device, only 1mA needed, and it turns itself off after some time of no use, so you don't actually need any power switch, just a small battery box.
