In a project near Bologna, Italy, Ecoacciaio srl used the Nordweld system for the construction of 2 biogas tanks.

✅ The key challenge was the very limited access to the er****on area, which had a direct impact on material handling, crew organisation and the sequence of operations.

The applied system enabled the entire tank to rotate during construction, which made it possible to feed material from one location and organize the successive er****on stages more efficiently. This helped reduce logistics operations around the tank, improve the use of limited working space and reduce interference with nearby works.

✔️ The project also used rotation and positioning welding equipment, including rotating fixtures, turntables and a mobile welding station. As a result, the er****on process became more structured, welding conditions more stable, and the entire ex*****on better adapted to the real limitations of the site.

⚙️ The Nordweld system helps improve tank er****on even in limited-access conditions.

A good example comes from a biogas project in Italy involving Ecoacciaio srl :
– 2 biogas tanks
– diameter: 24 m
– height: 17 m
– roof and first course: stainless steel 304
– shell and bottom plates: carbon steel 273

In this project, the main challenge was the very limited access to the working area around the tanks.

The applied Nordweld system enabled tank rotation during construction, which made it possible to feed material from one location and reduce logistics operations around the tank. This helped improve work organisation, structure the successive er****on stages and reduce disruption on site.

The project also used rotation and positioning welding equipment, which supported stable rotating welding conditions, better ergonomics and smoother ex*****on of large tank sections.

A good example comes from a biogas project in Italy involving Ecoacciaio srl:
– 3 biodigesters
– diameter: 36 m
– height: 7 m
– material: carbon steel 273
– equipment used: Nordweld Standard System

⏱ In this project, the system supported stable rotating welding conditions, which improved control over circumferential weld ex*****on and made the alignment of large-diameter sections easier to manage.
The applied equipment helped shorten construction time, improve the organization of the successive er****on stages and reduce interference with other works carried out in parallel on site.

This is where mechanization brings real value in tank projects — through better work organization, improved welding conditions, safer ex*****on at ground level and more predictable project flow.

⚙️ 220 tonnes per tank.

In this project, we delivered the Advanced System with Wheel Trolley for the construction of two large stainless steel tanks made of LDX 2101.

🔩 From the first components on the foundation to roof assembly and final dismantling of the equipment — this realisation shows how an organized system configuration supports the construction of large stainless steel tanks.

We have another successful edition of StocExpo and Tank Storage Events in Rotterdam behind us! 🇳🇱

📅 On March 10–11, 2026, at Rotterdam Ahoy, we had the pleasure of participating in one of the most important global events for the energy infrastructure and liquid storage industry – StocExpo. This year’s edition once again proved to be a true hub of innovation, bringing together more than 180 exhibitors and experts from around the world.

A big round of applause to our Nordweld team, who at stand L23 enthusiastically shared their 35 years of experience in steel tank construction technology, as well as to the TLC team presenting industrial safety and access systems.
