Hardware SMS Gateway solution for every business. SMSEagle is a hardware SMS gateway for sending and receiving SMS messages directly to/from GSM/3G/4G network.

The device allows you to send SMS messages without the need of Internet connection. Just put your own SIM card inside the device, plug it in your local network and use built-in API to send/receive SMS messages. What makes a great interface?

Not more features. Not more menus.

Just the right information, in the right place, when you need it.

That was our goal when designing SMSEagle 7.0.

Before the official launch, we invited selected Partners to test the new interface in their everyday work environment and share their honest feedback. Their insights helped us refine the details and ensure the new experience supports day-to-day work, not just looks good in screenshots.

Here's what Jonas Wahlström from Direktronik AB said:

Why change an interface that has worked for years?

„For years our user interface was the part that came with the hardware. The gateway was the product. The software was what you used to set it up.

At some point that stopped being true. What we had was a communication platform: SMS, voice, WhatsApp, Signal, email, automations, monitoring, reporting. It deserved to be treated as one.

So we spent months rebuilding it. Concept, branding, design system, information architecture, frontend.

The visual design was the easy part. The work was making sure every function built over a decade found its place in a structure designed from scratch.

A different look was never the goal. The goal was a system that is easier to operate, easier to read, consistent and fast.

What that means in practice: navigation organised into eight areas that match what people actually do, "Compose" as a global button that opens from any screen, side panels and drawers instead of jumping between pages, and views that load without full page reloads.

New users get a shorter onboarding. Customers who have run SMSEagle for years get the same device, the same integrations, and a system that stays out of their way. And we get a foundation for the next few years of the product.

For the past 9 months, we've been working on something that can't be captured in a single screenshot.

This is the biggest interface redesign in SMSEagle's history. New navigation, a faster way of working, a completely different user experience.

36 hours of SMS downtime. ➡️ That's how long it took to restore some of Vonage's services after a fire at the NorthC data center in Almere. The outage affected services including SMS API, Messages API, and Verify API, used by companies around the world.

What makes this story interesting is not the fire itself.

Vonage stated that it had a backup data center and redirected traffic accordingly. This raises an important question: if failover mechanisms were already in place, why did some customers have to wait more than 36 hours for services to be restored?

The incident also highlights something else: how many seemingly independent services can depend on the same underlying infrastructure.

Telstra Desktop Messaging is being phased out.

On August 6, 2026, Enterprise customers lost the ability to make changes to existing services, and on November 9, 2026, Telstra Desktop Messaging will be permanently discontinued.
