What If Your IoT Device Can’t Be Patched?

Japan’s cybersecurity news highlights personal data leaks affecting car-rental users and banking customers—a reminder that cyberattacks can harm the people who trust businesses with their information.

Although the report does not identify unpatched vulnerabilities as the cause, vulnerable devices create an exposure window when patches are unavailable, pending deployment, or no longer provided.
