Balcão revestido a Viúva Lamego, no restaurante Taberna Lx localizado no coração de Little Portugal, em Toronto.

Ref. RB810 11x14cm Verde T2

A space that celebrates roots, culture and innovation.
The interior was designed by architect and designer Joana Astolfi, who incorporated Viúva Lamego tiles into her project with the support of Nuno Fonseca.

Taberna Lx, in the heart of Little Portugal in Toronto, opened in July this year as a living tribute to Portuguese identity. Created by Kelly Amaral, descendant of one of the first Portuguese families to settle in the area - whose grocery store in the 1960s helped shape the neighbourhood - Taberna was established with the mission of honouring the culture and gastronomy of Portugal, bringing to Canada the richness of its flavours, traditions and art in all their authenticity.

What happens when art, medicine, and centuries-old craftsmanship meet?

Coming to Sintra from Houston, artist and neurologist Amita Bhalla joined us at Viúva Lamego to explore how intuition and consciousness take physical form through the language of ceramics.

For Amita, art is a vehicle for healing and connection - an intention that now lives in a large-scale, hand-painted tile mural created alongside our master artisans.

As her panel nears completion, it prepares to travel back across the Atlantic, carrying the soul of Portuguese craft and a shared dedication to transformative art.

A glimpse of what is taking shape in our studio. More to come soon.
