In 2005, BPB plc (British Plaster Board) was acquired by Saint-Gobain in order to strengthen its position in multi-regional businesses and to enlarge its gypsum activity. was formerly known as Saint-Gobain Construction Products (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., and it operated under the BPB brand until 2008, before changing its name to Gyproc®. Saint-Gobain Malaysia owns the largest plasterboard manufacturing
plant in Malaysia, with a capacity of 16 million square metres per annum. This plant, which was launched in 2006, serves the growing markets of Malaysia and Singapore offering a portfolio of systems to provide specifiers and builders with innovative interior solutions. Saint-Gobain Malaysia's state-of-the-art facility in North Port at Port Klang houses a Solutions Centre and a Training Academy. The Solutions Centre showcases Gyproc®'s comprehensive range of systems designed for professionals in the building industry. The Training Academy is managed by a team of trained experts to provide comprehensive value-added technical support services.
