The Town of Amherst, MA has contracted Market Hill Woodwork to help with the ongoing restoration of the town hall beginning with the north entrance doors.

These 7’ x 3’ double doors were completely disassembled, stripped, rebuilt in many rotted areas, finished with new white oak veneer and many other details to bring them back to life. All original brass hardware was cleaned, polished and lacquered.

I should add that the before photo is not B&W.

MHW just wrapped up a project in South Amherst. The client wanted their old, knotty pine built ins to “go away.” MHW was able to make that happen by painting the units and building new solid maple doors and drawer fronts along with all new soft close hardware and hard maple drawer boxes. The final color is Sherwin Williams “Night Out” in semi gloss.
