The vent is available in diameters of 3 inches, 4 inches, and 6 inches, and comes in colors such as brown, black, gray, and white. It offers styles including flush mount, snap collar, 11-inch pipe, and options that may include or exclude a screen or spring-controlled damper.
This product is ideal for both new installations and replacements, with a maximum airflow design that efficiently removes moist air and humidity from the home.
The exhaust vent is equipped with a damper that opens and closes (spring option) to block outside air and elements from entering. The damper seals the vent opening when the clothes dryer or bath fan is not in operation, as there is no exhaust air exiting the vent. When the clothes dryer or bath fan is running, the exhaust air pressure forces the damper open, allowing the exhaust air to escape from the vent.
The vent includes an opening with a removable screen that has a net-free area of 17 square inches, which helps reduce back pressure. By removing the screen, the net-free area of the unrestricted opening increases to 12.5 square inches. It is essential to regularly inspect the inside of the vent to avoid lint accumulation when using it for clothes dryer exhaust.
Made from polymer resin material that includes a UV inhibitor to prevent premature fading, the vent can be painted when properly prepared, with plastic paint being the recommended choice.
