Every great business starts with a dream, and mine began in a sandbox.
As a young boy, I could spend hours playing with toy trucks, moving dirt, building roads, and imagining big projects. Looking back, those simple childhood moments laid the foundation for what would eventually become Tri-Town Landscape Materials.
My first real exposure to a successful business came from working alongside my grandfather at his construction company, a business originally founded by him and his four brothers in the 1930s. Those early years taught me far more than how to work hard. He showed me how to treat customers with respect, how to take pride in your work, and how important it is to stand behind your name.
The advice he gave me has stayed with me throughout my entire career: "Treat people the way you want to be treated, always provide the best quality materials you can, and remember that your name is everything."
I was also fortunate to have an incredible role model in my mother, an accomplished businesswoman who built and operated her own successful company for more than 50 years. Her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence inspired me every step of the way.
Over the years, I've been blessed to learn from many talented people whose guidance, encouragement, and advice helped shape both my business and the person I am today. To each of you, thank you.
When I look at Tri-Town Landscape Materials today, I see much more than a business. I see a lifetime of lessons, relationships, hard work, and support from family, friends, employees, customers, and mentors who believed in me along the way.
For that, I am truly grateful.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
To the young man at 17 and his cousin Johnny P that told him where that Cat 922 was hiding in Norwood all those years good job!
